WATER MAIN BREAK - HANOVER STREET - UPDATE PAGE
9-9-19 4:22 pm Security is notified of major water main break on Hanover.
9-9-19 4:30 pm Management on site to assess situation
9-9-19 4:45 pm BFD on site to begin emergency preparations / road closure / make safe
9-9-19 5:02 pm Tenants notified that no one is allowed to exit the building.
9-9-19 6:08 pm Building tenants notified of building closure.
9-9-19 6:26 pm Building tenants notified of building closed until further notice as the building has no water
9-9-19 8:03 pm Water on Hanover has not stopped and crews are digging up the street to assess the situation
9-9-19 9:15 pm BFD Advised that earliest potential opening of garage will be 6am 9-10-19. BFD will be conducting ground penetrating radar to determine integrity of Hanover Street foundation and street pavement to support vehicular traffic. At this time we do not have any information on when water service will be restored.
9-9-19 10:10 pm Baltimore DPW has advised that cars may now exit the parking garage. DPW has also advised that Hanover street parking will be closed tomorrow 9-10-19 therefore we ask that if you plan on parking at the property tomorrow, please make alternate plans. The building is still planned to be closed 9-10-19.
9-10-19 6:35 am - Baltimore DPW was able to restore water service in the early morning hours to 100 South Charles, therefore the building will be OPEN AND OPERATING today 9-10-19.
9-11-19 7:13 am - The infrared scan results indicated that Hanover Street is structurally sound.
The garage will be open tomorrow morningand will close at 5:30 pm so that the city can set up to do milling on Hanover Street.
Any cars that are not out of the garage prior to the start of the work will not be able to exit.
The only access to Hanover will be from Lombard Street with no access to or from Pratt Street.
We will update you with the final blacktop phase of the repair to Hanover and anticipate that it will happen this weekend.
